How did I get a Job in the UK(London) from India

Five tips that get you a Job in the UK

Hi, again my awesome readers. Writing this article has always been in my mind yet I don’t why I have clutched it so lengthy. As each software engineer in India, I also had a passion for working abroad. However this figured has been there for a considerable length of time I did not pay such a lot of attention to it. Because I am earning quite a decent salary in India then I thought why unnecessarily take that pain of leaving the nation of origin.

Yet, a couple of reasons added a little more fuel to it. Obviously, cash is one of them. And as this suspected came burning harder in my mind I started searching for software jobs outside India. I was not really centered around where I ought to go. Yet, my main center is to get out of India. I was trying to a great extent without any legitimate guidance or cycle. I even approached consultancies and wasted quite a bit of cash. In any case, that did not really help.

Then how did I get the job in London from India? Follow from here on. In this article, I am gonna give you five top tips that assist you with getting a job in the UK.

Why the UK and why not the USA or Canada?

I was searching for the cycle for different countries. And for the USA I already lost one lakh rupees applying for H1B in the past. I did not want to lose the cash again. Because I am familiar with my karma. So I was leaning more towards Canada. I was collecting as much information as I can for getting the Canada PR. Then in the middle of the cycle, the UK Skilled Laborer Program came as a soothing surprise to me. I will write the exact cycle in another article. Be that as it may, we needn’t bother with a PR(Permanent Residency) to migrate to the UK. All we really want is a support that gives us the Job offer and the Visa Sponsorship.

Few out of every odd company in the UK can provide us the sponsorship. Not because they can’t make it happen, but since they are not eligible.

Indeed, for a company to provide the Visa Sponsorship, they ought to first register for a license with the UK government to support the visa to the candidates. And the UK government has a few regulations for it. So in simple words, just a Licensed Support can give us the Job and support the visa.

So all we want is to get a job in a company that provides us the sponsorship. So presently the goal is clear — Finding a support company and getting a job there.

Finding a Visa Sponsorship

This is the hardest part. When you crack this, you are in. That’s all there is. The interaction is exceptionally simple. All you really want to do is to get a job in a sponsoring company. This is where I come in and help you for nothing with that’s employer me. And underneath are the main 5 tips that I followed and functioned admirably for me.

TIP #1: Don’t approach Job Consultancies

It is completely a waste to Approach a job consultancy. I unnecessarily approached a consultancy named Y-Axis and spent Rs 50000/ – . And what I received in return is the frustration. Yeah, I purchased frustration for Rs 50000/ –

Haha. Frustration is expensive. You should careful  while spend on it.

Not because they cheated or something. They are great individuals. They are exceptionally professional. Yet, the main issue is that they don’t have any idea what jobs to apply for. So they are not cheaters. What I also heard from the other people is Y-Axis is great at processing applications for Canada and Australia PR.

Allow me to let you know How it functions. We pay for a couple of services, for example, International Resume Preparing Service, Linked In Profile Building Service, Apply Job Service and so on. And the consultancies do all these things on behalf of us. They prepare the resume, they create accounts on all the job Portals, and they apply for the jobs on our behalf. And these are the services that I paid for.

The main service that worked for me somewhat is the Resume Preparing Service. That as well, I modified the resume that they prepared so it suits my necessities and involved the same resume in each application by doing a few little modifications to a great extent.

The issue with them is that there is some non tech fellow sitting on your behalf and applying each hell of the job he thinks is relevant to you. You don’t believe that they applied for in excess of 500 jobs. And I have got just three calls from what they have applied on behalf of me. Out of those three calls, I have landed just a single Position which I dismissed. Not they dismissed me. I dismissed them because of the package negotiation.

So the reality is don’t go for consultancies and waste the cash. They make a sweet juice out of you which they drink and appreciate. Try not to fall into that trap.

TIP #2: Prepare your Resume and Introductory Letter with International Standards

Try not to get carried away by the term International Standard. Saying this term, the consultancy folks took cash from me and gave me a horrible resume format. I thought International Standard means some standard resume format that they use. In any case, not  exactly. It means that the English language and the vocabulary that we mentioned in the resume are to be simple and legitimate. The following are a couple of tips which I want to give you while preparing the resume and the introductory letter.

Get some nicer format by browsing the internet. And modify the format according to your taste. All through the resume simply make sure that no spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes exist. Utilize simple vocabulary don’t utilize all the vocabulary that you learned for GRE or GMAT.

Try not to have an excessive number of varieties and fancy textual style styles and tables in your resume and you make it seem to be an exhibition photograph. Simply have a nice fair lite variety theme and stick to that theme. My favorite textual style is Cambria and the variety is the light sky blue. The main idea is that the resume ought to give a nice appearance to the recruiter, simply the same as how you appear to the interviewer.

Try not to broaden your resume past three pages. Please, please. This is vital. I have seen a couple of resumes that stretch out up to 8 pages. Recruiters don’t usually have that much time to read your 8-page continue. They will put one big namaskar to that resume and discard it. Seriously.

On the first page of your resume, highlight your skills as list items. If possible mention also your certifications, if any, in total agreement. This makes the interviewer know the skills they are looking for. On the subsequent page, mention your previous activities. Here attempt to be as brief as possible. Try not to write the entire task spec. Come on. Recruiters don’t have that much patience to read everything in your resume. Simply mentioning the three on going ventures is sufficient. Attempt to put all three activities in total agreement.

On the third page, mention your academics, personal information, and your career interests. And that’s it. Extremely  simple.

Believe me folks these tips definitely help. All the tips that I am mentioning here are the things that I learned from my mistakes.

Then the main thing is the Introductory Letter. In India, no one cares about Introductory letters. No one means no one. In any case, outside this is an unquestionable necessity. If you want your profile to get picked up, prepare a nice introductory letter of one page. The thing with Introductory Letter is that you want to change a little for each job that you apply for, just to highlight that you have the exact skill set that they are looking for.

Both in the Resume and Introductory Letter, please mention that you are looking for Visa Sponsorship.

TIP #3: Applying the Jobs for Sponsorship

After the resume has been prepared the main thing is applying for the jobs. There are two things to mention here: where to apply? and how to apply?

Where to apply?

First and chief is LinkedIn.com. It is by a long shot the best site that I have at any point experienced for UK jobs. I have sent around 250 applications and I have got reactions from 6 of them and got extends from three of these 6 employment opportunities and I pick one.

The second is Indeed.co.uk. I have also applied to Indeed however did not get many calls.

Stick to these two: LinkedIn and Indeed. There are other job portals which I will mention at the finish of the article. Yet, I wouldn’t suggest them much.

How to apply?

Try not to apply for the jobs blindly and waste your time. This is also one of the mistakes that I have done. I blindly applied for as many jobs as I want. However, I have not got any replies. The reason here is all those jobs don’t provide visa sponsorship.

While applying for the jobs, simply check whether or not in the job description they mentioned anything about visa sponsorship. Scarcely any companies specifically mention that they don’t provide Visa Sponsorship and not many mention that they consider applicants from the outside UK with Sponsorship. A few companies also mention that they bear all the relocation costs. So watch the job descriptions carefully prior to applying. I realize this is an extremely tedious and painstaking task to take a gander at each job description and check whether it provides sponsorship or not. That is where I utilized LinkedIn Job Alerts. I created a LinkedIn Job Alert with the catchphrases sponsorship, visa sponsorship, Tier-2 General Visa with the location as the UK. The advantage is that we get an email at whatever point a job with these catchphrases is posted. The following is one of the job alert emails that I have got.

Tip #4: Dedicate at least one hour of Morning and Evening just to applying for the Jobs

This also assisted with managing my daily office work. Try not to simply sit before your laptop and apply for the jobs interminably. After a couple of days, you will quit applying for the jobs out of frustration. Try not to place yourself in that situation. Instead, put down a point in time in the morning and evening and dedicate that time just to applying for the jobs. In between browse your emails  from time to time (like with a gap of 60 minutes), just to keep an eye that if you get any updates from the recruiters.

TIP #5: Generally Important. Try not to Give Up

This is really significant, folks. Never  at any point give up. At the point when I say don’t give up, I am saying both your preparation and the applying for the jobs. The application cycle in the UK is a little more slow. Apply as many as you can. Attend as many as you can. Try not to feel bad if you lose one interview. Your amazing skills are not really for that company. Analyze why it was bad and rectify it in the following interview. In the interviews, don’t be hyperactive, simply maintain a stable attitude. If the interviewer is doing some rubbish with you give it back in a professional way. It happened to me a couple of times. However, I remained calm and I later lament that I had to give it back. Anyways, remember that don’t give up on applying for the job and don’t stop your preparation. We won’t ever realize in which corner the job is lurking for us.

That’s all folks. The following are a couple of the job portals in which I applied for the jobs.

LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/

Indeed: https://uk.indeed.com/

Glassdoor: https://www.glassdoor.co.uk/

If you have any questions, simply convey a reaction to this article and I will have the option to help you. All the Best  folks. Prepare well and get a job in the UK. See you soon here.
